This document covers the installation of Eloquence B.08.20 and/or update
from a previous Eloquence release.
Supported platforms

New installation directory
Eloquence B.08.20 is installed in a separate directory.
- HP-UX and Linux
- The Eloquence B.08.20 software is installed to the "/opt/eloquence/8.2"
directory. This allows Eloquence B.08.20 to be installed in parallel with
previous Eloquence releases.
- An existing installation of a previous Eloquence release is not updated
or replaced when installing Eloquence B.08.20. It may be uninstalled once it
is no longer used. The installation procedure does not copy or migrate the
configuration of a previous Eloquence release.
- Windows
- By default, Eloquence B.08.20 is installed to the "Eloquence\8.2"
directory below "Program Files". On 64-bit Windows, Eloquence is installed
below "Program Files (x86)". Product specific files are no longer installed
into the Windows system32 directory. This allows Eloquence B.08.20 to be
installed in parallel with previous Eloquence releases.
- The Eloquence B.08.20 installation program automatically upgrades any
previous Eloquence software to the new installation directory (see upgrade
note in the Windows installation
instructions for details).
License keys
Eloquence B.08.20 requires a license key version B.08.20 or
above. For a new Eloquence installation or when upgrading from
a previous Eloquence version a new license key must be obtained
to use the Eloquence server components.
The basic FTS functionality is included in the base product.
To use enhanced FTS indexing functionality, an additional FTS or FTC license key is required.
Please refer to Eloquence B.08.20 License Key documentation
for additional details.
