Eloquence B.08.10 Installation

This document covers the installation of Eloquence B.08.10 and/or update from a previous Eloquence release.

Supported platforms

Eloquence B.08.10 is supported on the following platforms and operating systems:

Eloquence is available for HP 9000 and HP Integrity servers:

  • PA-RISC based systems: HP-UX 11iv1 (11.11) or later is required.
  • Itanium based systems: HP-UX 11iv2 (11.23) or later is required.

Eloquence is available as an RPM package for the IA32 (i686), AMD64/EM64T (x86_64) and IA64 (Itanium) architecture.

  • Linux 2.6.9 kernel
  • glibc2.3 based systems (or newer) supporting NPTL based threading

Eloquence is available for 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) systems:

  • Windows XP, Server 2003 or later is required

New installation directory

Eloquence B.08.10 is installed in a separate directory.

HP-UX and Linux
The Eloquence B.08.10 software is installed to the "/opt/eloquence/8.1" directory. This allows Eloquence B.08.10 to be installed in parallel with previous Eloquence releases.

An existing installation of a previous Eloquence release is not updated or replaced when installing Eloquence B.08.10. It may be uninstalled once it is no longer used. The installation procedure does not copy or migrate the configuration of a previous Eloquence release.

By default, Eloquence B.08.10 is installed to the "Eloquence\8.1" directory below "Program Files". On 64-bit Windows, Eloquence is installed below "Program Files (x86)". Product specific files are no longer installed into the Windows system32 directory. This allows Eloquence B.08.10 to be installed in parallel with previous Eloquence releases.

The Eloquence B.08.10 installation program automatically upgrades any previous Eloquence software to the new installation directory (see upgrade note in the Windows installation instructions for details).

License keys

Eloquence B.08.10 requires a license key version B.08.10 or above. For a new Eloquence installation or when upgrading from a previous Eloquence version a new license key must be obtained to use the Eloquence server components.

The data encryption feature is an optional product component and requires an additional license key for being functional.

Please refer to Eloquence B.08.10 License Key documentation for additional details.
