gzip on HP-UX
GNU zip (gzip) is a compression tool created by the Free Software
Foundation (www.gnu.org) which
is available on almost all platforms.
gzip is included on HP-UX 10.20 and above. It is part of the
standard installation and can be found in the directory
to /usr/contrib/bin. See "man 1 gzip" for details.
For previous HP-UX versions, you can download gzip from the Internet.
The "Software Porting And Archive Centre for HP-UX" sites provide
a wide choice free software packages which have been configured
and ported to HP-UX.
