Q:
I just installed patches for Eloquence on my HPUX server using
the **pa20** patches.
Now I am getting these messages
$ eloqcore
sh: eloqcore: Execute permission denied.
This file does have execute permission.
A:
The PA20 builds only work on (somewhat) recent HP-UX
PA-RISC 2.0 systems. The system needs to have a PA8XXX CPU.
PA20 builds do not work on older PA7XXX CPUs, these are PA11.
PA11 builds work on all PA-RISC systems.
If you get execute permission denied although the
file modes are correct this indicates you are trying
to execute binaries for an improper CPU type.
You may use SAM
-> Performance Monitors
-> View System Properties
to check the CPU type of the system.
