Please note:

WEBDLG2 is a new Eloquence component. It needs to be manually integrated into an existing Eloquence B.08.30-1810 installation.

The next Eloquence B.08.30 release will have WEBDLG2 integrated, this document will then become obsolete.


Please skip this section if you install WEBDLG2 for the first time on the system.

HP-UX
WEBDLG2 has not been released for HP-UX yet.
Linux
Stop the eloqwebd83 systemd unit (as superuser):
systemctl stop eloqwebd83
Windows
Stop the eloqwebd service. Open a Windows Command Prompt as Administrator ("Run as Administrator") and execute:
net stop eloqwebd


WEBDLG2 has not been released for HP-UX yet.


Please note:

WEBDLG2 is provided as 64-bit build for the Linux x86_64 architecture and requires the systemd system and service manager.

We do not plan to release a 32-bit WEBDLG2 build for the Linux x86 (i586) architecture, or to support a System V Init configuration.

The current WEBDLG2 release is delivered as Eloquence B.08.30-1810 patch PE83-2207080.

Download: PE83-2207080-linux-x86_64.tar.gz

Installation (as superuser):

cd /opt/eloquence/8.3
tar xzf /path/to/PE83-2207080-linux-x86_64.tar.gz


The current WEBDLG2 release is delivered as Eloquence B.08.30-1810 patch PE83-2207080.

Download: PE83-2207080-win32.exe

Execute the patch installation program. Installation does not require a reboot unless the patched files were active.


Please follow the post-installation steps listed in this section if you install WEBDLG2 for the first time on the system.

Copy the new eloqwebd83.service systemd unit file to the /lib/systemd/system or /usr/lib/systemd/system directory, depending on the Linux distribution.

To install it in /usr/lib/systemd/system (as superuser):

cd /opt/eloquence/8.3/newconfig/startup/systemd
cp eloqwebd83.service /usr/lib/systemd/system

To install it in /lib/systemd/system (as superuser):

cd /opt/eloquence/8.3/newconfig/startup/systemd
cp eloqwebd83.service /lib/systemd/system

Next, reload the systemd configuration (as superuser):

systemctl daemon-reload

Copy the new eloqwebd2 configuration template files to the Eloquence 8.30 configuration directory. These files are:
eloqwebd2.cfg
eloqwebd2.app
eloqwebd2.uri
eloqwebd2.mime

Template directory (HP-UX, Linux)
/opt/eloquence/8.3/newconfig/config
Configuration directory (HP-UX, Linux)
/opt/eloquence/8.3/etc

Template directory (Windows)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Eloquence\8.3\newconfig\config
Configuration directory (Windows)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Eloquence\8.3\etc

HP-UX, Linux
Use the commands below to copy the new configuration files and to make them user-writable (as superuser):
cd /opt/eloquence/8.3/newconfig/config
cp -i eloqwebd2.* /etc/opt/eloquence/8.3

cd /etc/opt/eloquence/8.3
chmod u+w eloqwebd2.*
Windows
Please manually copy the new configuration files from the template directory to the configuration directory, as listed above.

After installation and having committed the post-installation steps above, these are the minimum steps required to get started with WEBDLG2 and the provided demo program:

  1. Configure the eloqwebd2 service name(s) or port number(s) to listen for HTTP and/or HTTPS requests.

  2. HP-UX, Linux: Configure the eloqwebd2 UID system account and GID system group.

  3. Start the eloqwebd2.

  4. Install and run the demo program.

  5. Additional configuration may be neccessary if an external web server is used.


Please skip this section if you install WEBDLG2 for the first time on the system.

The eloqwebd2 configuration template files might have been updated since your last installation:

See below for a list of changes. If changes are listed since your previous WEBDLG2 version, please consider to update your existing configuration files.
