Development Environment
Using the online help
Eloquence includes a complete, context sensitive HTML online
documentation. You can obtain help in several ways:
- For context sensitive help, just press F1 or select the Help push
button (where available).
- In an editor window, pressing F1 provides help for the current
selection or the word the cursor is currently located in.
- The Tooltip window and the statusbar text provide a short
description of the supposed function of a menu entry or a toolbar icon
when the mouse is located on it.
- You can browse the online documentation using the
Browser Toolwindow.
- For list of help sections, please select the Help Topics
menu item from the Help menu.
- You can use a HTML browser such as Netscape Navigator.
When online help is requested, a browser window will appear containing
the requested help topic. Currently the help window will appear in a
separate browser window.
Please note: The Eloquence online documentation requires a frame
capable Web browser.
The Help window
The online help is divided into two frames. The top frame holds the
navigation buttons.
- Back and Forward Selecting this button will refer
to a previous displayed page in the selected order.
- Contents Selecting this button refers to the help contents.
- Index Selecting this button refers to the index page
(currently not available).
Many images provide a full scale image when clicking on it.
The browser indicates this by a blue border around the image and
changing the mouse cursor when it is over the image.
Using a HTML browser
In addition to the Eloquence Development Environment, the Eloquence
online help can also be viewed from a standalone HTML browser, such as
Netscape Navigator.
In order to view the help documentation, open the file
Browse.html
which is normally located in the html subdirectory of the Eloquence
installation directory.
Installing the documentation on a Web server
The Eloquence online help can either be installed on the local
system or on a web server.
In order to access the web server from the Development Environment,
you need to modify the Help configuration.
In the Application Properties dialog, please enter the URL of
the directory, where the documentation has been installed.
You must restart the Development Environment in order to activate
the new help configuration.
Please note: You should not install the Eloquence
online documentation on a FAT or VFAT file system. Since it includes
about 1000 files, this may take up considerable space on a FAT file system
due to the cluster size limitations.
